What is the test looking for?
We are testing to see if you have a functional nervous system problem coming from your upper neck (atlas and axis, or C1 & C2).
There is a very powerful relationship between your upper neck and how your whole nervous system functions. A problem in the upper neck can essentially cause your body to get stuck in fight-or-flight and it’s the chronic pattern that drives the symptoms most of our new patients show up with.
How we do it?
We use a noninvasive technology called computerized infrared thermography (CIT). Thermography is a real-time functional test that measures your autonomic nervous system: the same part of your nervous system that turns the fight or flight response on and off.
What does the test cost?
The thermography screening test is free and only takes about 15 minutes.
We are using it to determine if you need the full exam and necessary x-rays. Before having you coming for the full exam.
What happens next if you have this problem?
Step 1:
We’ll take very detailed x-rays of your upper neck to find the exact joint that is stuck and in need of a precise adjustment.
Step 2:
We’ll make a very precise adjustment to one of the two bones in your upper neck (atlas or axis, C1 or C2).
The joint in the upper neck that’s stuck might not hurt which is often why it’s been missed, but if it stays stuck and keeps throwing off your nervous system function then your symptom pattern will likely persist.
We don’t have to chase the pain and symptoms all over your body like everyone else has done, we just have to find the root cause.

What to expect in 15 minutes
- A brief health history. We talk about what you’ve been dealing with, how long, and which other doctors or treatments you’ve already tried. We just need to understand your journey to this point.
- Three to five thermography scans. Painless, contactless. They take a few minutes total and give us the data we need.
- Results and next steps. Right there at the visit, we’ll show you what the scans tell us. If they show a pattern consistent with sympathetic dominance rooted in the upper neck, we’ll explain what your full new-patient exam would look like, what care would cost, and you’ll have the option to schedule the exam before you leave. If the scans don’t show that pattern, we’ll tell you clearly and point you toward providers who may be able to help.

- We do our best work with people who have chronic symptoms that haven’t responded to standard care, not a recent injury.
- We have a protocol that we follow and we don’t see patients just whenever they feel like coming in for an appointment.

- We will always be honest with you, even when we don’t think it’s working and we need to stop your care.
The cost of treatment
- The thermography screening is free.
- The full new-patient exam, biomechanical x-rays, and first adjustment all together is $540.
- A follow-up office visit is $125.
- We offer interest-free payment plans for comprehensive treatment plans ranging from 3 to 8 months.
- We can accept HSA or FSA health insurance and we can provide you superbills, but we don’t bill traditional “in-network” or “out-of-network” insurance plans.
